Ixchel Betancourt holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Music Performance with an Emphasis in Jazz Studies from Texas A&M University – Kingsville and just recently graduated with her Master of Music in Jazz Performance on Saxophone from Texas State University. She auditioned for the National Flute Association Jazz Flute Big Band in 2017 and 2019 and has had the opportunity to play in several jazz festivals in Texas. She has been able to work with many different guest artists from both the jazz and classical genres.
